Summer nights come alive when you Walk on the Wild Side at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Families discover the unique sights, sounds, and smells of Sonoran Desert nocturnal life as your flashlight beams along the trails. Learn from local partners with live animal encounters and educational activities. Keep cool with a treat from Breezy Pops, available for purchase.

Event Information

  • Gates open at 6:15 p.m.
  • Event starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m.
  • For the safety of all guests some trails will be closed
  • This is a rain or shine event
  • Bat Talks lead by AZ Game and Fish in Smith Greenhouse Lobby from 6:40 pm, 7:05 pm, 7:30, pm and 8:00 pm
  • Kids Bat Migration Activity in the Children's Garden all night
  • Owl Talks lead by Liberty Wildlife in the Smith Lecture Room at 6:40 pm, 7:05 pm, 7:30, pm and 8:00 pm
  • Star Gazing lead by ASU Earth and Space at Ayer lake from 6:40 pm, 7:05 pm, 7:30, pm and 8:00 pm  
  • Breezy pops are limited to 2 per person and located on the Visitor Center Patio

Please wear closed toe shoes and bring a flashlight for each person in your party.
