Wild About Wildlife- Arizona's Reptiles

Join Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) staff, Jeff Meyers and Cheyenne Dubiach, for a virtual lecture series to learn more about the critters who live in and around the arboretum. Jeff Meyers is a wildlife biologist for AZGFD, managing the Watchable Wildlife program. He has spent his entire adult life studying mammalian carnivores and enjoys the opportunity to educate others about all of the fascinating wildlife species we have here in Arizona. Cheyenne Dubiach is the Watchable Wildlife Program Coordinator for AZGFD. Her educational background is in Forestry and Wildlife Biology. She is an Arizona native who enjoys any opportunity to share her enthusiasm for wildlife with others.

Arizona's Reptiles! Learn the basics about Arizona’s reptiles from Jeff Meyers of the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Dinosaur descendants are regular inhabitants of desert backyards, but most of us know little about even the most common lizard species. Which one rids us of unwanted insects? Which ones are venomous? This talk will cover the unique characteristics of the reptiles that inhabit all four of the deserts found in Arizona. We will look at their natural history, the tropical influences that and shaped our state’s flora and fauna, and of course, at the critters themselves.
